Transient Transcendent

Transient Transcendent

What fleeting thought flashed across my mind
When at first she said hello?
Am I dreaming said a faint whisper
It surely must be so.

Treading lightly so as not to stir
The aura pervaded air.
Spilling radiant pools of inner light
she's certainly most rare.

Breathless yearning I wish to notice
Favored whim bestowed askance.
My hope is strung upon silken thread
Entwined with newfound chance.

What worthy practice did I engage
To deserve her complex kiss?
Departed on wings of wary lark
Her embrace I now miss.

Now without her everpresent glow
The roses have all grown pale.
So too, I foresee, my beating heart
Shall wither from the bale.
